Kyntus carried out a very special project for Airbus and the DGAMPA (Direction Générale des affaires maritimes, de la pêche et de l'aquaculture) in 2024, RECORAM V2: it involved renewing the surveillance radars of the CROSS Manche, with interventions on sensitive sites by the sea and in the open sea, such as the island of Ouessant, Jobourg and Saint-Frieux. This modernization was carried out in several phases between May and October, requiring a year of meticulous preparation.
The project was particularly complex, from design to installation. First and foremost, the structural engineering department had to design suitable reception structures, despite the lack of archives on existing facilities. The management of human and technical resources - cranes, Ecureuil and Super Puma helicopters - required seamless coordination. What's more, each radar had to be replaced in just two days, under severe logistical and weather constraints.
This project enabled Kyntus to demonstrate its particular skills: technical expertise drawing on past experience to propose the most appropriate solution, structural design, rigorous management and optimized planning, all in a demanding environment.
