JOB PURPOSE
Working with the site supervisor(s), the team leader organizes one or more sites of varying complexity, with large or small teams, such as pylon erection, temporary machine tower erection, installation of mobile premises and connections. The team leader in charge of erecting metal structures, pylons and radar towers is responsible for managing a team of workers specialized in the installation, maintenance and repair of metal structures linked to pylons and radar systems. They must guarantee the quality, safety and conformity of work carried out on site.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organizes site work, following instructions given by the site manager and explaining them to fitters and outside contractors in terms of quality, costs and deadlines.
- Receives and checks the equipment needed to complete the job properly
- Takes note of the prevention plan and ensures that it is respected by all teams working on the site (internal and external).
- Reports regularly to the site foreman on progress and site conformity.
- Exercises a duty to alert in the event of foreseeable deviations, in order to study with the works manager the solutions to be implemented.
- Implements solutions validated by the site supervisor to ensure that the worksite complies with specifications.
- Supervises the work of fitters, ensuring compliance with health and safety rules.
- Participates in site-related work: assembly of structural elements, lifting, mounting of accessories on the structure (antennas), adjustment of accessories, low-current wiring....
- Ensures the quality of the company's image vis-à-vis customers and external service providers.
- Trains new fitters and team leaders.
- Acts as a reference for other team leaders and subcontractors
- Is a driving force behind financial optimization of worksites through industrialization of work methods and processes.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Ability to find your way around technical premises
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings
- Site knowledge
- Respecting deadlines and quality
- Mastery of metal structure assembly techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of radar masts and towers, as well as construction standards.
- Team and site management skills.
- Knowledge of tools and equipment specific to assembly work (cranes, lifting equipment, etc.).
- Good communication skills and team spirit.
INITIAL TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bac+2 or Bac Pro training in metallurgy, construction or similar.
- Significant experience of at least 3 to 5 years as a structural steel erector, with initial experience in team management.
- Electrical certification
- Height clearance
- CACES (certificat d'aptitude à la conduite en sécurité) and other certifications specific to working at height or erecting pylons are a plus.
- Driving license required
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Frequent travel to job sites (variable location).
- Working outdoors, sometimes in difficult weather conditions.
- Flexible working hours according to site requirements, with the possibility of overtime.
